We are looking for A detail-orientated individual who helps manage and maintain the accounts, payroll, and ledgers.

Requirements:

Proven bookkeeping experience solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records data entry skills along with a knack for numbers. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with setting up and processing payroll. Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required.

Accountant Assistant:

Maintains a complete, systematic set of records of business transactions for the assigned business unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Verifies, allocates and posts business transaction details to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, unit reports, check stubs and computer printouts.

Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files; transfers data to general ledger.

Reconciles and balances accounts.

Compiles records to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to the operation of the business.

Calculates associate wages from time cards; submits payroll registers for payment. May follow up and resolve payroll issues.

Prepares tax reports.

Computes, types and mails monthly statements to customers.

Completes records to or through trial balances.

Performs other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

• Work with clients in such industries as banks, credit unions, insurance, government, and not-for-profit organizations.

• Review client financial/tax documentation and audit workpapers.

• Plan financial audits by understanding organization objectives, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations.

• Participate in all phases of an audit including planning, control analysis, testing, and substantive procedures.

• Work side-by-side with Partners and Managers for mentoring.

• Assist in the preparation of reports for management concerning scope of audit, financial conditions found, and source and application of funds.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or a related field required.

• CPA Candidates and CPAs encouraged to apply.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel) required.

• Experience with business accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, Sage, Thompson Reuters CS Professional Suite/UltraTax) preferred.

• Ability to maintain and promote a positive attitude and work environment.

• Ability to travel to client sites, if needed, is required.
